what is the difference between motocross and off road bikes?
When I go to websites to look up dirt bikes it always has Motocross Bikes and off road bikes in different categories what is the difference between them?
A world of Difference: Racing/Trails
>motocross bikes are designed for speed, so have solid power,suspension,and have no extras that would incorporate weight.
>trail bikes or “enduros” are built for tackling technical trails and have a smoother ride. They are heavier than motocross bikes carying electric starters,headlites,and kickstands.
>both bikes may have the same displacement and look the same but are completely different…………….the trail bike on the track is a heavy watered down version of the motocross…………….and vise versa……….the motocross on technical trail is choked back to the point of stalling, and lacks some helpful equipment.
>I wouldnt take a trail bike to the track but i have ridden motocross bikes on technical trails, it is a challenge
